Candy Wreath Tutorial

A few weeks ago I was talking with my mom about her plans for this year’s Halloween decor. We were scrolling through websites searching for candy themed decorations and I saw a wreath that was made of little faux candy pieces for $200! I immediately began to think of how I could recreate the same look for way less and my first thought was to use wine bottle corks wrapped in fabric to make the candy pieces. I ordered the corks on Amazon and found the wreath frame at Michael’s and fabric at Joann’s.
Materials Needed:
Wreath frame (I used a 24 inch frame)
Wine bottle corks (I ordered 150 and only had a handful left over)
Fabric cut into 5.5″ x 4″ squares
Ribbon cut into 4.5″ pieces
Hot glue gun
Making the candy pieces is really easy. Just roll the fabric around the cork and glue it down. Then tie each end off with ribbon and cut the excess fabric on the ends with scalloped scissors. Super easy!
After all of your candy pieces are made simply glue them around your wreath frame. I chose to mix up my fabric patterns and glue them on in a random order.
That’s it! It’s one of the easiest DIY projects that I’ve done. It just takes some time to make all of the candy pieces in the beginning. I’d love to know if any of you decide to try it out so tag me on social media if you post a photo.
