The Ultimate DVD Storage Hack

Who else is doing some decluttering before summer gets here? I always tend to want to declutter and organize before the summer months arrive since summer for me means festivals, vacations, and more outdoor activities away from home. I just feel better when I know that everything is nice and neat at home when I’m away or busy.

That brings me to today’s blog post topic. I am sure that I’m not the only one who has shelves or drawers filled to the brim with DVDs. Even though they don’t take up nearly as much space as their predecessor VHS tapes, they are still unsightly and quite annoying to find space for. I started out with all of my DVDs neatly arranged in drawers but my collection quickly outgrew the three drawers I had available so they ended up stuffed in cubbies and put in one of the attic storage rooms.

During my spring cleaning, decluttering, and organizing I set out to find a solution to the DVD storage. After a quick search on Amazon, I came across these amazing little plastic DVD storage sleeves and they have been a total game changer! I took an entire cubby system, nine cubbies to be exact, and condensed it down to one small little plastic tub! I got rid of two industrial-sized garbage bags FULL of DVD cases and organized all of my collection nice and neatly into one drawer. Turns out that this has been my favorite organization project to date. I love how nice and neatly all of the DVD appear in the drawer. Each plastic sleeve comes with an insert to protect the DVD inside and you can also insert the DVD cover so that it’s still easy to find the movie you are looking for. I will admit that I put all of mine into alphabetical order to make it even easier to search them and all of the animated DVDs are together to make it easy for the kids too.

Can you believe that there are over 200 DVDs in this one drawer? I’m so happy to have them all in one SMALL space!
