Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes

This recipe for cheesy scalloped potatoes is one that I started making about four years ago and it’s been a staple on our Thanksgiving table ever since! The original recipe idea came from a dish that we had on vacation at Disney World. I tweaked the recipe a few times and finally came up with one that is nothing but cheesy potato goodness.

Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 4 Russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. This recipe is all about layering. You don't have to worry about measuring out the ingredients in each layer, just make sure that you have enough cheddar cheese leftover to sprinkle over the top as your final layer.

  2. In a 10×12 pan layer the ingredients as follows: potato slices, onion slices, drizzle heavy cream, sprinkle parmesan cheese, sprinkle cheddar cheese, dash of salt and pepper.

  3. Continue to layer ingredients until all have ben used and the final layer is the cheddar cheese.

  4. Cover the pan with aluminum foil and bake at 350º for 60 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
