Vanilla Buttercream Icing

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. With a hand or stand mixer beat together butter and shortening until smooth

  2. Add powdered sugar one cup at a time and mix until smooth

  3. Add water and vanilla and continue to mix until desired consistency is reached. If you need to stiffen the icing, add more sugar and if you need it more creamy add water.
