Hey, where did yesterday go?

March 18th, 2008 by john

Sheesh … two days into this grand venture and I already broke my own first rule, I missed a day. Yesterday was … well let’s just say it was not a banner day in my life. One of those days where bad news from several different directions converge. Not anything I won’t survive, just a combo-meal of a bummer. And in the course of pitying myself yesterday, I let the blog slide. ‘Nuff on that.

Among the many facets of my geekness, there is also a NASA side and so I loved this little image collection:

Quite often I find flash animations and apps to be either annoying or entirely unencumbered by any justification for their creation and existence. This little gem, while offering zero in the useflness or utility categories, is just too cool for words ..

Could any image say more while being completely devoid of meaning?

Coupons is always a beautiful thing, and I’ll be posting some good ones here on occasion:

some more bits

This is a flipping great little mini-documentary on just how much can be done with a very small creative crew and today’s digital technology. Three graphics geeks working for BBC Timewatch re-create Omaha Beach using only three actors (themselves) and one un-invited horse …

OK, now that the snow is (mostly) gone I can appreciate this image much more …

deal of the day

March 15th, 2008 by john

Thanks for taking a look at my first deal of the day! Sometimes I’ll showcase affiliate programs here, and sometimes it may just be something I consider a flippin good deal.
Today I’m highlighting Lunarpages.com. I’ve dealt with a lot of hosting companies, both for my own projects and for my clients. Lunar pages has been the best and most pain free by far.
I will be moving all of my sites to lunar hosting in the near future, especially due to their “unlimited domain” deal. Got a few low volume sites? You can host them all at one price, under one lunarpages account.

my first bits of tid

March 15th, 2008 by john

– Now this is a cool site I found thanks to stumbleupon.com:

http://www.howstuffworks.com

They cover pretty much everything, from “Can water go bad?” to “Who owns the internet?”

– Old news for the real trek geeks out there, but the new Trek film is looking interesting and a bit gritty:
